Green Building Alliance
Aurora Sharrard is the Executive Director of the non-profit Green Building Alliance, an organization that provides broad and deep technical support to innumerable local green building projects. She co-founded the Pittsburgh 2030 District, a collaborative effort to create communities of high performance buildings in two urban areas of Pittsburgh; she also led the creation of DASH (Database for Analyzing Sustainable and High-performance buildings), a web-based software program that seeks to improve evidence-based decision-making in the high performance building marketplace. Sharrard has extensive experience in the design and construction industry, having worked for several years as a geotechnical engineer, as well for design, survey, and construction firms. She holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
