John Camillus is the Donald R. Beall Professor of Strategic Management at the Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh. His research has focused on strategic planning and management control. Currently, his research addresses large-scale problems in the strategy arena, including leading the “Business of Humanity” project, which seeks to demonstrate how firms can profitably incorporate social benefit into business models. This work includes his collaboration with Dr. Bopaya Bidanda to develop projects in Pittsburgh’s economically distressed Homewood neighborhood, in India, and elsewhere to establish locally-generated DC power sources. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration from Harvard University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management (MBA) from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and a Bachelor of Technology in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
